The Helping Hand The chapter’s philanthropy/community service program should exemplify our motto of “An Assisting Hand”. The program should contain a general philosophy of the chapter toward philanthropic and community service, a list of organizations/individuals assisted through the process, the number of members and other groups that participated, total hours worked and total dollar amount contributed. The program sh ould also contain a number of hands-on service learning projects, as well as media coverage and/or any other correspondence involved with the efforts. ![]() Last fall, we raised over $700 for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease) in honor of Brother Brandon Chambers' father, Col. Jay W. Chambers Jr. This fall (2010) we are fighting against blood cancers in honor of Brother Michael Ny's mother, Eng Ny, who was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML) in 2007.
